Our History
Founded in 2023, ABAAI was established to advance the field of Applied Behavior Analysis in India. Our journey began with a vision to provide structured support, education, and ethical guidelines to professionals in the field. Over the years, we have grown into a key organization promoting the best ABA practices, engaging with national and international experts, and building a community committed to improving the quality of life for individuals with behavioral needs.

We aim to support individuals with behavioral challenges through effective, research-based interventions and provide a platform for ABA practitioners to develop their skills and share knowledge.

ABAAI believes in a future where behavior analysis is accessible to all who need it in India, with a strong community of professionals united in delivering high-quality, culturally sensitive services. We aspire to be the leading authority in advancing ABA practices and improving the lives of individuals with behavioral challenges across the country.

Ms. Arthi Baranidharan
General Secretary
The General Secretary of the Applied Behavior Analysis Association of India. Ms. Arthi Baranidharan brings a wealth of expertise, holding a Master&apo;s in Biochemistry, an M.Phil in Endocrinology, a Master&apo;s in Applied Psychology, and a B.Ed in Special Education (Multiple Disability) . she holds a master level certification in applied behavior analysis (QBA) from QABA, USA. As the Director of the Impower Centre in Palavakkam, Chennai, She boasts 13 years of invaluable experience in the rehabilitation field.

Shailesh Mistry
MA, PGDCP, Behavior Analyst
As founder and Partner at Shantvana Child Development Centre, I have dedicated the past eight years to working with children with Autism and developmental disabilities. My journey in Applied Behavior Analysis began in 2021, during which time I engaged in both research and practice under supervision. I remain committed to continuous learning and expanding my knowledge to effectively support and empower those in need.

Dr. Sonam Kothari
Treasurer
Dr Sonam Kothari, pediatric neurologist, special educator and Behaviour analyst.She is a practicing pediatric neurologist for the past 10 years.She is the co-Founder of Butterfly learnings- A behavioral & developmental healthcare providing Evidence-Based Therapies and a comprehensive center for developmental support including all the specialties named Occupational Therapy, Parent Training, Speech and Language Therapy and Psychology in Maharashtra, Rajasthan,Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat initiated in 2021.

Aruna Agarwal
Child Psychologist, Masters in Counselling Psychology and Behaviour Analyst
Child Psychologist, Masters in Counselling Psychology and Behaviour Analyst, Aruna brings 21+ years of expertise in early years of education and intervention. Her extensive experience encompasses:

Tejashree
President of ABAAIndia
Tejashree completed her BCaBA in September 2022. She is a psychology student and has been working with children with autism since 2009. She has presented her work in ABAI in the year 2022 and 2024 under the mentorship of Dr Smita Awasthi and has been working with Behavior Momentum India since 2022. Her keen aspiration for the field of ABA has motivated her to join along and run forward the cause of the field via ABAA.

Council for Applied Behavior Analysis
The Council for Applied Behavior Analysis serves as the official Accreditation Board of ABAAI. It ensures that professionals meet rigorous standards, fostering trust, excellence, and ethical practices in the delivery of ABA services across India.
